Job Summary:
This position organizationally falls under the Gaming Commission of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma. Operational hours are Monday through Friday; 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. or as may be needed to provide services. The purpose of this position is to assist in developing, implementation monitoring gaming compliance with internal controls and procedures as to ensure compliance with applicable Tribal, Federal, State, and local gaming and non-gaming regulations. This position conducts compliance testing and verifications with gaming machines/devices software, firmware, ERPOM and/or hardware. The Compliance Officer is under the direct supervision of the Executive Director of Gaming.

Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Tasks are as follows, but not limited to:

• Monitors and inspects the shipping, receiving, installation, relocation, and/or removal of gaming machines(s)/device(s).
• Monitors and reports on observed issues of non-compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures, and Federal, State, and Tribal gaming laws and regulations for all departments.
• Performs testing of software for gaming machines, devices, etc.
• Conducts investigations and reports on observed criminal and internal theft violations.
• Observe gaming activity to ensure all regulations, policy and procedures are being met.
• Perform regular risk assessments.
• Report writing and implements necessary corrective action plans and conduct any necessary follow-ups on reports, violations, and/or deficiencies.
• Ability to interact with multiple personalities.
• Interact with representatives from the State Indian Gaming Commission, National Indian Gaming Commission, and Tribal Gaming Commission.
• Responds to Agency requests for information along with assisting outside agencies when appropriate.
• Assists in the review and updating of internal controls, policies and procedures ensuring continual compliance with Federal, State, and Tribal laws and regulations.
• Maintains a current and continual working knowledge base of gaming industry related.
• Prepares letters, reports, and written summary of findings for vendors and technicians.

The incumbent must be flexible in order to take on a variety of miscellaneous duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Requirements, Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates Degree in Business or similar field (or equivalent of education and experience that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be evaluated on an individual basis)
• One (1) to two (2) years previous experience in Gaming
• Must be at 21 years of age or older
• Must be able to pass a background investigation
• Obtain a Gaming License from the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma Gaming Commission

Additional Qualifications:

• Ability to do the work of the position with or without direct supervision
• Must be able to read and write
• Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Tribal employment laws and regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of the operation of a variety of computer software, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications.
• Proficiency in preparing a variety of records, reports, and correspondence using appropriate format and computer software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships and ability to interact with employees at all levels, both in person and through phone, e-mail and written correspondence.
• Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
• Ability to implement, explain and apply applicable policies, procedures, laws, codes and regulations.
